Denver Ethiopian Favorites

Craving Ethiopian Food? Me too!
We are still learning about the Ethiopian options in Denver but here are some of our favorites. Enjoy.

We went here to meet our Google group for dinner. It was a great experience for our first time eating Ethiopian food. Since then we have been on numerous occasions. We experienced the coffee ceremony here when I put together a large gathering for families adopting from Ethiopia. Our friends Chris and Lisa (who are adopting from Ethiopia) also joined us here- it’s our favorite place. I am craving some yummy Ethiopian food right now. Oh, and the owner is phenomenal!
Perfect for a large group.

Google Group: Ethiopiaadoptcolorado
Join this group if you are thinking about adopting from Ethiopia, in the process of or have already brought your child/children home. You can ask questions about agencies, Doctor recommendations, invitations to local Ethiopian events, etc. This has been a great resource for us. Here I was able to make an announcement about my African Christmas ornaments. My heart is in Ethiopia. I sell these around the holidays.

I went here with my friend Rachel C. The place is small and intimate and the food is phenomenal. Make sure you can pay with cash. Read reviews and see a picture of the restaurant so you don’t pass it by. I have also been here with friends that are also adopting from Ethiopia, Sarah and Eric and Kate and Brad.
Best for a small group.

This place has everything from spices to the traditional coffee pot. And the service is wonderful-I think I may have found a woman to help me learn to cook.
They also carry coffee beans- the greens ones for you to roast yourself!

We learned about this restaurant from the daughter (Kelly, hair braider) of the owner. Kelly told us that the restaurant has now started to sell injera, etc. for the freezer after hearing that Americans are adopting Ethiopian kiddos.
*We have not been here yet.

Hair braiding & Lessons in hair care
We met this very nice lady at a picnic (Google group event) and saw the beautiful things she did with hair. All of the little girls had such gorgeous braids. Contact her by email. Chaltu.kelly@yahoo.com
